PURPOSE

The goal of the Child Nutrition Program is to serve nutritious, appetizing meals to students. Winn Parish School Board participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and National School Breakfast Program which is governed by federal (United States Department of Agriculture) and state (Department of Education) regulations. Nutritious meals are served every school day. All meals served must meet patterns established by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. The menu planning system required by the NSLP is designed to provide children with approximately one-third of the key nutrients and calories they need according to the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA’s).

Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.

To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, (AD-3027) found online at: http://www.ascr.usda.gov/complaint_filing_cust.html, and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
